Regal Food Industries
Regal has recently embarked on a major investment programme in Pakistan with the help and assistance of the British High Commission in Karachi and the Pakistan Export Promotion Bureau. Work has commenced on a 10 acre site to build a world class food manufacturing & processing facilities for fruit and vegetables.
Pakistan has the largest harvest of fruits and vegetables. However unfortunately over 40% of the harvest is wasted due to lack of processing facilities, storage and handling. There are technological gaps, because Pakistan has not yet developed highly sophisticated and satisfactory systems for the post harvest processing of fruits and vegetables.
There are 40 different kinds of fruits alone harvested in Pakistan. Most of which can be processed and exported.
The Regal food processing plant will be accredited by the European standards authority such as ISO 9002 and BRC. The directors have a well established track record in process manufacturing. The company has well established relationships with the leading supermarket chains in the west and 70% of the production will be for export.
The production primarily will consist of pure fruit juices, canned fruit and vegetables, while mango pulp will represent the remaining substantial market share of canned products.
The production timescale for this project is scheduled for the end of 2007. the company is extremely excited at the prospect of this launch.
