HRH The Duke of Gloucester Visits Regal House

On Tuesday 23 April, HRH The Duke of Gloucester was given a warm welcome as he visited Regal House in Bradford, the head office site for Regal Food Products Group Plc.  

Ed Anderson CBE, The Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire greeted His Royal Highness before introducing him to Younis Chaudhry, the Chief Executive Officer of the Regal Food Group, who started the official visit with a meet and greet with staff, and a presentation on the group’s 20+ year journey and its portfolio of brands.

Followed by a behind the scenes tour of the bakery and manufacturing facilities, Younis Chaudhry guided HRH The of Duke Gloucester and The Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire around the bakery whilst witnessing some of Regal’s household favourites being created, including Maderia cakes, biscuits, pastries, and of course Cake Rusk.

A plaque which reads “To commemorate the visit of HRH The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO to Regal House. Tuesday 23 April 2024” was unveiled to mark the occasion and the visit.

Regal Host and Sponsor Women’s Millan Centre Community Lunch

On Wednesday 28 February Regal Food Products Group hosted and sponsored an over 50’s women’s community lunch in partnership with the Millan Centre.

Attended by over 30 women, many of whom suffer from isolation and mental health, the dinner held at a Bradford restaurant aimed to give attendees of the centre the opportunity and space to relax and socialise.

The Millan Centre is a community centre who run educational, social and health related activities for women and girls in the Manningham and Heaton area of Bradford.

Regal Foods Flexes Appetite for Further Growth With Love Handmade Cakes Acquisition

Yorkshire-based cake manufacturer Love Handmade Cakes has been acquired by Regal Food Products Group Plc for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition comes just 24 months after the Regal group snapped up premium desserts manufacturer, Just Desserts Yorkshire.

Established in 2004 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, Love Handmade Cakes (formerly Exquisite Handmade Cakes) specialise in baking a range of over 100 cakes, traybakes, individual cake bars and muffins for food service wholesalers, coffee shops, distributors, and other food service outlets.

The acquisition is set to boost and compliment Regal’s portfolio of bakery brands, including Regal Bakery, Yorkshire Baking Company, Just Desserts Yorkshire, and The Cake Emporium, whilst providing opportunities for expansion, development, and growth in the food service area of the business and its new desserts division.

Regal Snacks Launch New Look Savoury Packs Ahead of Ramadan

Regal Snacks has launched a range of South Asian savoury snacks into Asda stores ahead of Ramadan, following on from a rebrand aiming to make the range more appealing to a wider audience.

The South-Asian savoury snack packs are set to land in selected Asda stores next week (w/c 8 Jan 24) and feature classics such as Bombay Mix, Hot Bombay Mix and Balti Mix, as well those more traditional snacks such as Flakey Mix, Boondi and Traditional Mix. The new range will initially be available on the world food aisle as part of Asda’s Ramadan offer.

A rebrand has also been rolled out to coincide with the launch of the savoury packs with the aim of reaching out to new consumers covering a wider demographic.

Regal’s The Cake Emporium Makes Debut with Hogmanay Loaf Cake Range

Regal Food Products Group’s new bakery brand The Cake Emporium has made its debut with the launch of a new loaf cake range developed to help Morrisons shoppers with their Hogmanay celebrations.

The Cake Emporium, an innovative brand from Regal Food Products Group which aims to create cakes for special occasions, has launched its first set of cake products into Morrisons stores in time for Hogmanay celebrations.

Consisting of three new loaf cakes – Maderia Cake, Cherry Cake and Sultana Cake, the range offers consumers a great value sharing product that can be enjoyed with family and friends during Hogmanay celebrations.

The cakes packaging also gives a nod to Scottish heritage with the use of a tartan pattern running throughout the design.

The Cake Emporium loaf cakes will be available in Morrisons stores this week.

Regal Foods Joins Forces with Bradford College

Regal Food Products Group are thrilled to have joined forces with Bradford College to deliver a series of taster days and workshops for both students at Bradford College and students of secondary and primary education within the local area.

Three main events will take place throughout the academic year offering students the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in a variety of key areas such as cake decorating, baking and product development.

Last week the partnership got off to a flying start, students from four Bradford schools attended a fun cupcake decorating workshop based around the theme of Halloween. The results delivered from the students were fantastic!

Regal Food Products Group Plc Acquires First Non-Food Business, Packaging ‘R’ Us

Regal Food Products Group Plc, the food group owners behind household brands, Regal Foods and Yorkshire Baking Company, have acquired Packaging ‘R’ Us for an undisclosed sum – their first non-food and drink business.

The acquisition comes in response to the groups long-term vision of expanding and strengthening their wholesale and food service offering, whilst providing a diverse product range within their brand portfolio.

Since the recent challenges of Covid-19 and Brexit, the Regal group have identified the importance of becoming a one-stop solution for their customers, delivering services including finished goods, ingredients, and now packaging.

Packaging ‘R’ Us is a well-established catering supplier, manufacturing and specialising in a wide range of disposable food packaging solutions, including foil containers, catering foil, disposable utensils, and plastic containers.

Regal Foods Team Join Bradford Community Kitchen to Feed the Homeless

On Friday 21 July, the team at Regal Food Products Group Plc teamed up with their charity of the year, Bradford Community Kitchen, to serve hot food to those living in food poverty at Campbell House in Bradford – an emergency accommodation facility.

Regal Food Products Group Plc also sponsored the buffet of hot food, as well providing a large selection of fresh fruit, delicious cakes, and hot and cold drinks. Attendees were able to enjoy a hot meal whilst having the opportunity to takeaway.

The community open kitchen was not only attended by the residents of Campbell House, but those who live in and around the Bradford area, with some travelling from as far as Batley.

The event was delivered in response to Regal’s missions of fighting food poverty.

Regal Visit Dixons Allerton Academy for Careers Week

Team members from Regal’s marketing, technical, and new product development departments, were thrilled to be invited into Dixons Allerton Academy to talk about their roles within Regal Bakery and Regal’s family of brands as part of the schools careers week.

The presentation and workshop presented to over 60 primary school students gave an insight into our bakery brands and the products we bake. Students also had the opportunity to decorate their own Regal Bakery Fairy Cake to take home.

We had a fantastic time visiting the school and talking to the students – a big thank you goes to Mrs Nawaz at Dixons Allerton Academy for inviting Regal to be a part of their successful and inspiring careers week.

Regal Support Martin House Children’s Hospice First Eid Fest

On Saturday 1 July, Regal Food Products Group Plc donated and provided a selection of sweet treats, savoury snacks, juices, and chai to Martin House Children’s Hospice for their first ever Eid Fest.

The event included food and drink, Bhangra drumming, dance workshops, biscuit decorating, henna, and much more to celebrate the Hospice’s Eid party.

On Saturday 24 June, Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, along with Naz Shah, MP for Bradford West and Shadow Minister for Crime Reduction, visited Regal House in Bradford – the head office of Regal Food Products Group Plc.

Younis Chaudhry, CEO of Regal Food Products Group Plc, welcomed the mayor of London to the head office site, before introducing him to the Regal team who all had the opportunity to talk about their work within the Regal food group and the positive impact the business has within the Bradford district and beyond.

Regal Food Products Group Plc are delighted to have sponsored the Yorkshire County Cricket Clubs (YCCC) annual Eid Milan celebration at Headingley Stadium yesterday evening (Tuesday 16th May).

More than 350 guests; including community groups, dignitaries, members of Yorkshire’s professional squad, the Northern Diamonds, and staff of the Yorkshire Cricket Organisation, attended the event, which was hosted by BBC Test Match Special commentator and stand-up comic, Aatif Nawa.

The evening’s programme featured musical performances from singer Hussnain Lahori, and as well as an insightful panel discussion between Cricket legend Darren Gough, YCCC’s CEO Stephen Vaughan, captain of the Men’s team Shan Masood, and the Northern Diamonds’ Lauren Windfield-Hill.

Regal Foods Host Special Iftar Event in Partnership with Bradford City AFC

On Thursday 20 April, Regal Foods joined forces with Bradford City AFC to host a special Iftar event held at the University of Bradford Stadium.

Over 130 guests from all faiths and communities gathered in the McCall Suite to attend Iftar – a daily event that occurs throughout the holy month of Ramadan, where people come together to break their fast and participate in prayer.

Speakers included Regal Foods CEO Younis Chaudhry, who spoke about his own journey of faith and experiences as a practicing Muslim. Younis addressed the importance of the strong partnership between Regal and BCAFC and the new Regal sponsored multi-faith Prayer Room that was officially opened back in February this year.

Other guest speakers included The Bantams CEO Ryan Sparks, composer and song writer Ismail Hussain, and players from the youth team who shared their experiences of fasting throughout Ramadan.

With welcomes over, guests were invited to the Board Room to prayer, led by Nasheed Artist Ismail Hussain, which was followed by a buffet and networking.

CEO Younis Chaudhry Joins Morrisons for Special Iftar Event

CEO Younis Chaudhry was invited to Morrisons head office in Bradford for a special Iftar event, where he spoke about his own journey of faith and his experiences as a practising Muslim.

A spokesperson from Morrisons said “We know that Ramadan is an important month for our Muslim colleagues and customers, so this week colleagues from across Morrisons have been taking part in a solidarity fast.

“Through fasting alongside our Muslim colleagues we’ve shared experiences, learnt about Ramadan and the significance of charity and also what we can all do to support our teams during this time.”

Regal Open Multi-Faith Prayer Room in Partnership with Bradford City AFC

Regal Food Products Group Plc has opened a new multi-faith prayer room at Valley Parade in partnership with Bradford City AFC.

Special guests were invited to join staff from Regal Foods and Bradford City AFC on Thursday 23 February for the official opening of a new multi-faith prayer room.

The new multi-faith prayer room has been designed with the aim of creating a quiet space for prayer and reflection for the staff of BCAFC and for those attending match days. A state-of-the-art wash facility has been installed, along with new flooring and furnishings, including footwear storage, seating, and decorative wall panelling.

Regal Foods Announce Charity Partnership with Bradford Community Kitchen

Regal Food Products Group Plc has announced a 12-month partnership with Bradford Community Kitchen to strengthen the ongoing support and work received by the Regal food group.

The partnership with Bradford Community Kitchen aims to support, deliver, and grow its services through employee volunteering, Regal sponsored open kitchen events and fundraising activities.

With the continuous financial support Regal have provided, Bradford Community Kitchen have recently added a baby support service which has seen food, nappies, wipes, baby milk and formula and other vital products provided to those who are in need and require support from the charity.

Bradford Community Kitchen is a registered charity who provides hot meals and food parcels to people who are in crisis. The food bank operates 7 days a week between 10am-4pm.

On Friday 10 February, Regal Food Products Group Plc partnered up with Bradford Community Kitchen to host an open kitchen and serve meals to those who are struggling to buy food on a daily basis.

The event held at Café West in Allerton welcomed over 350 people through its doors where they were greeted with a hot meal, served by a team of volunteers. A range of cakes, desserts and fruit were also available for families and individuals to take away and enjoy in the comfort of their own homes.

Bradford Community Kitchen is a registered charity who support those who are in need. The charity run a food bank operating 7 days a week between 10am-4pm.
